Dangers of Seed Oils

Cholesterol has not contributed to increased rates of heart disease. What has increased rates of heart disease is increased levels of inflammation in the body.

What causes this inflammation: Seed oils and sugar.

SEED OIL FUN FACT

The average American gets 80% of their fat calories from seed oils.

What the heck is a a seed oil?

Canola, corn, cottonseed, grapeseed, rice bran, safflower, soybean, and sunflower oils. All of these are high in unstable omega-6 fatty acids that break down into toxins when you cook with them.

These oils build up in our bodies and cause inflammation, brain fog, cancer, heart disease, hormone imbalance, immune deficiency, infertility, disrupt metabolism, and lead to metabolic disorders such as Type 2 Diabetes.

Seed oils shut down the mitochondria’s ability to create energy which forces them to use sugar from your bloodstream. When you blood sugar drops you experience sugar cravings and low blood sugar which creates a vicious cycle and gets you hooked on sugar and processed carbs.

Seed oils are cheap. They are in most processed foods you eat, even the organic ones. While you can’t avoid them completely, you can limit your intake of processed foods by focusing on cooking with and eating grass fed butter and tallow, duck fat, ghee, and coconut oil.
