Is your doctor still operating under the outdated belief that certain foods cause high cholesterol? Or that high cholesterol causes heart disease? If so, you might need a new doctor.

Heart disease happens when arteries in the heart narrow and harden from the buildup of plaque. Current research holds that plaque develops as a response to injury which results in inflammation. This is where cholesterol plays a role.

Cholesterol is an antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation. It infiltrates the artery walls to fight inflammation.

Heart attach and stroke are inflammatory diseases, not diseases caused by high cholesterol levels. What causes inflammation? Sugar.

Cholesterol Facts

  • Cholesterol is a building block. It is found in the membranes that surround your cells and helps keep them stable.

  • Cholesterol is so important that every cell in your body can make it except the brain.

  • Since 80% of serum cholesterol is manufactured in the liver, if you reduce cholesterol in your diet your body will make more.

  • Cholesterol is the backbone of our sex hormones. Low testosterone? Your cholesterol is probably low.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, DIETARY CHOLESTEROL DOES NOT IMPACT SERUM CHOLESTEROL. Eliminating red meat, eggs, and dairy will NOT lower your cholesterol.
