Think You're Ready For A Detox?

Have you noticed that the closer we get to summer and swimsuit season, it pops up a whole lot more? It seems people often conflate detox with weight loss. While people can and do lose weight on a detox (usually toxic waste stored in fat cells), that weight comes back on pretty quickly after stopping the detox because the root cause issue was not addressed.

The first step in my Roadmap To Wellness is the Foundational Protocol which focuses on addressing drainage. Why drainage?

Before you jump into a detox, add new supplements to your routine, or begin a pathogen killing protocol, do yourself a favor and find out if your drainage pathways are actually clear and open. You will thank yourself. Your body will thank you too.

How do you know if your drainage pathways are open and you’re ready for a detox? Ask yourself these questions. If you answer “no” to any of them know that a detox could do more harm than good. Why? Because if your drainage pathways aren’t open, you’ll dump too many toxins into your bloodstream, your liver and kidneys won’t be able to handle the burden and you’ll experience some not-so-fun symptoms that we call a Herxheimer reaction. So do yourself a favor and show your drainage pathways some love first!

ASK YOURSELF:

  • Am I well hydrated?

  • Am I moving my body and sweating most days?

  • Am I sleeping 7-9 hours/night?

  • Do I feel well rested upon waking?

  • Am I pooping 1-3 times/day? Notice I said day and not week.

  • Is my GI system calm and operating optimally (meaning no bloating, gas, nausea, nor undigested food in your poop)?

  • Are you experiencing stabilized energy throughout the day (meaning no afternoon crashing or feeling tired and wired at night)?

  • Do you for the most part feel calm and experience a positive mental outlook (no overwhelming feelings of anxiety and/or stress)?

If you answered “no” to any of these questions, a detox might not be the best choice for you right now.

Instead, focus on opening your drainage pathways and getting the contents of your overly full toxin bucket moving out of your body.

Changing my ideas and training to opt for drainage over detox has been life changing for my healing journey which is why I included it on my list of things that transformed my health in 2020.

Ready to change your healing trajectory? Get your drainage pathways open.

Whether you want to work with me one day or you’re a DIY type, you can begin working on Foundations using the same protocol I use in my practice.
