Root Cause Healing

We have been stuck in the current healthcare paradigm for so long that many have resigned themselves to living with imbalances and symptoms and consider it normal.

There is another, more effective approach to health, and the healing and prevention of chronic disease. It’s called Functional Medicine or Integrative Health, and it takes the whole person into consideration, identifies the root cause of the illness or imbalance, and then restores health and vitality.

Conventional Medicine:

  • Is reactionary. Conventional medicine waits for you to get sick and then addresses the symptoms with medication.

  • Is diagnosis-focused. The focus is on determining what the problem is so it can be given a diagnostic code/name.

  • Emphasizes symptom management with prescription drugs. The focus is on prescribing pharmaceutical drugs to improve symptoms of the diagnosis.

Root Cause Healing:

  • Is preventive. The aim is to identify potential lifestyle and nutrition issues that could lead to illness before an illness develops.

  • Is root cause focused. An Integrative Health Practitioner doesn’t ask what is going on but more importantly, why is this client experiencing this condition.

  • Places the emphasis on lifestyle and nutrition. Protocols used are intended to address the lifestyle and nutrition issues that lead to chronic illness, correct the issues, and bring the body back into balance.

Integrative Health Practitioners complete a comprehensive intake with each and every client and with that information, begin to consider why the client is in a state of imbalance. By addressing these underlying issues first, the client is given the opportunity to bring their body back into a state of balance and out of a state of dis-ease. As the client travels this path from dis-ease to balance, they’ll find their symptoms begin to disappear. They’ll feel more energy and vitality. This healing process is supported by educating each and every client on the importance of lifestyle and nutrition.

Root cause healing is about finding the source of the problem. The symptoms you are experiencing are the body's alarm system letting you know that something is not right. Root cause healing is a foundational, long term solution to chronic illness.

Don’t get me wrong, conventional medicine is great for acute, life-threatening ailments. However, for chronic illnesses, root cause healing is the most effective approach.
